the idea will be one thing to start a warung coming from scratch, however the idea will be very different to attempt to open an organic warung. Abe-do Organic Warung, located 2 kilometres coming from Ubud, in Banjar Kutuh Kaja, was created a year ago with only three spoons, three knives, three forks in addition to several glasses.  the idea was difficult for Nyoman Sukarsa, the former artist in addition to gardener, to come up with the start-up cost of Rp.2 million. There was not much spare change for kitchen implements in addition to extra supplies.

Nyoman was motivated to go organic when his wife, Sri, got very sick in addition to he started off to source a natural, healthy way for her to get back to not bad health.  With the aid of herbs, jamu (traditional medicine) in addition to switching to organic whole foods, Sri will be currently healthy, full of energy in addition to will be working full time at the warung. The food they serve will be fresh, organic where possible in addition to prepared on the spot coming from scratch. Nothing will be pre-prepared or coming from jars, cans or bottles.  the idea’s a real labour of love.

The organic farmer, Mr. Hartono, will be located only 2 km away in addition to he provides seasonal organic fruit in addition to vegetables, in addition to delivers to the restaurant daily.   Nyoman explained, “My warung will be only 70% organic, because I can not provide certified organic chicken in addition to meat.  The meat costs are four times the regular cost in addition to I simply can not afford to charge those prices”.

Nyoman told me how he feels blessed by the patrons in which visit the warung. “One American man helped me out in addition to put Abe-do on Trip Advisor in addition to then another person helped me make a Facebook page. currently people are coming coming from far in addition to wide to try my organic food in addition to organic Bali coffee. I am so happy in addition to business will be doing very well.”

Nyoman in addition to Sri currently own twenty cups in addition to twenty glasses in addition to things are getting better. The cool music tunes in which play inside the warung are coming from a little IPod docking station in which was donated recently by a Canadian patron. Nyoman told me how he feels blessed by all these random acts of kindness in addition to ‘angels’ in which drop into his warung. A great little success story in which started off with courage in addition to belief on a shoestring budget in addition to an example of how coming from little things, big things grow.
