Another Tiger Dies at Indonesia’s ‘Death Zoo’

A male Sumatran tiger has died at the Surabaya Zoo, where hundreds of animals have reportedly died in recent years. Rama, a critically endangered tiger can be another addition to the zoo’s death list, which includes multiple orangutans, a giraffe, along with also a wildebeest.

In a statement to Agence France Presse, the zoo spokeswoman Veronika Lanu claimed in which 16-year-old Rama died of heart failure however insisted in which the tiger had been properly treated.

“The death was due to natural causes; we provided the best care we could.”

however according to AFP, Rama – who died on April 10 – had a series of health problems along with also suffered via a bad cough along with also was lethargic weeks prior to his death.
